How Your Google Business Profile and Website Work Together

Understand how a business website and Google Business Profile support accurate information, local discovery and customer actions together.

Give each channel a clear job

Your website can explain the full service, process and inquiry requirements. A Google Business Profile helps eligible businesses present practical business information on Google. Keep the two consistent so customers do not find different contact details or conflicting hours.

Confirm eligibility first

Google generally requires in-person customer contact during the stated hours and lists specific exceptions. Online-only businesses are ineligible. Do not create an office listing for a location the business does not operate; review the current rules before setting up or changing a profile.

Choose a relevant website destination

A general business link should lead to a page that clearly identifies the business. Where a profile supports a particular action, use the appropriate real booking or contact destination. Check that the destination remains usable on a phone.

Keep updates coordinated

  • Review business name, contact details and genuine location information.
  • Update changes to hours or services in both places.
  • Make sure profile links still reach the intended page.
  • Keep account ownership and authorized management access clear.

Look beyond profile views

A view is not the same as a qualified inquiry. Review whether people reach the correct service, complete the intended action and receive follow-up. This gives the business a more useful picture than treating profile visibility as a guaranteed sales result.
