A Mobile Website UX Checklist

Review navigation, tap targets, reading order, forms, media and calls to action with a practical mobile website checklist.

Try the page as a customer would

Open the site on a phone, find a service and follow the inquiry path. Do not stop at checking that the columns stack. Reading, navigation and typing are different tasks, and each can reveal a problem that a desktop preview misses.

Check reading and navigation

  • Text remains readable without pinching to zoom.
  • The page does not require sideways scrolling.
  • Menus open, close and expose understandable labels.
  • Buttons have enough separation to avoid accidental taps.
  • Fixed headers and overlays do not hide the active control.

Complete the form

Check that email and phone fields offer suitable keyboards, labels remain visible and errors explain what to fix. After an error, entered information should remain available. Confirm that a successful submission tells the visitor what happens next.

Inspect images and long content

Images should fit without hiding important details. Tables, embedded tools and long email addresses deserve separate checks because they can overflow a narrow layout. Verify that decorative media does not push the essential action far down the page.

Repeat the most important task after changes

A typography or menu update can affect the rest of the page. Recheck the inquiry journey at narrow widths and with enlarged text. The aim is a complete, usable task, not a screenshot that merely fits the screen.
